Duane’s Body & Paint, Inc. was started by Duane Scott, the original owner, in a rented space in the back of a motorcycle shop in 1976.
The business grew and in 1981 he was able to lease a building and hire his first employee. The growth continued until he was able to
move to a 4,500 square foot building at the current location of 6546 Belleau Wood Lane in South Sacramento in 1986. Duane was able
to purchase the building in 2002 and remodeled it to the existing 14,000 square foot collision repair facility. Erik Kohler, the current owner of Duane’s Body & Paint, Inc., started his career in the collision repair industry sweeping floors at another local shop in 1990. He worked his way up at that shop and trained as a body repair technician and later as a paint technician. He continued his training at another shop in town until he was hired by Duane as a body repair technician in 1997. The following year he trained as a collision estimator and was then promoted to Shop Manager. In 2003, Duane decided he was ready to move on so he sold the business to Erik and his wife, Kerrie Kohler. Kerrie was in the insurance industry for 9 years before coming to Duane’s Body & Paint, Inc. to handle the bookkeeping and accounting aspects of the business. The business has continued to flourish and we were able to expand again in 2007 by purchasing and remodeling the 20,000 square foot building next door to the existing building. We now operate in a total of 35,000 square feet which includes the body shop, paint shop and a full detail center. Duane’s Body & Paint, Inc. has been a family owned and operated business serving the Sacramento area for over 30 years. We have established a reputation for quality repairs completed in a reasonable amount of time. Unfortunately, accidents do happen but Duane’s Body & Paint, Inc. is there to help through these situations. We will complete the necessary collision repairs restoring the vehicle to “pre-loss condition” and will be happy to assist through the insurance and rental process, if needed. |
